Wood chisels will be another addition to your woodworking tool chest. They range in size from a quarter-inch wide to two inches wide. Chisels with wooden handles are the easiest to handle.

Finally, you’ll want to have a battery-powered cordless drill. Look for one that has variable speeds and a reverse spin. A good starting drill that’s not too heavy is a 14-volt model. Most drills will come with a variety of bits. For woodworking projects, you’ll need a variety of twist drill bits that make one-16th to one-quarter inch holes. If not included, you’ll also want a set of screwdriver bits.

I’ve been doing woodworking for a few years now but hadn’t gotten around to getting myself a Lathe. Since woodworking is something I really enjoy, I finally decided to treat myself to a good quality lathe.  The Jet 708360 was highly recommended to me by some buddies who also greatly enjoy woodworking.

Initially I wanted to purchase a much more expensive and larger lathe like the Oneway.  But it’s mainly just very hefty and very expensive and does pretty much the same job as the JET 708360.

The Jet  is quite a bit less pricey and in general does the type of work I’m interested in.  I was glad to find that it was easy to assemble.   The holes were flawlessly aligned, a good thing since I have had to deal with poorly aligned openings with other that had to be put together.  

For the JET 708360’s performance, I’ve been extremely pleased.  It honestly works well and it is very quiet and has zero vibration.  I get a smooth cut and no vibration makes polishing a lot simplier and easier. It also has a really good tail sock, a durable motor, and the belt adjustment is easy to maneuver.  Plus, it has a very useful tool rack where you can keep your other tools.  I’ve been quite pleased with it.
